Farm Journal to Share Actionable Insights from Farm Data Research at FBS/MASA Ag Software Summit
The lack of a robust, integrated data ecosystem that starts on the farm presents a major challenge for efforts to increase supply chain transparency, sustainability and resiliency. Not to mention, the threat this lack of integrated data poses to the sustainability and resiliency of farm operations themselves.
The Sustainability Consortium and Trust In Food, a Farm Journal initiative, have collaborated to undertake an annual survey of U.S. row crop farmers to identify emerging trends around digital agriculture and learn more about farmer perspectives on data collection and sharing.
Lead researchers Drew Slattery and Teresa Garcia-Moore will share the trends and insights gleaned from this very current and comprehensive survey at the opening general session of the 2021 Ag Software Success Summit on Wednesday, September 8th in East Moline, Illinois. Their key findings include:
- Trends in data collection, management and use
- Data collection/sharing software platforms
- Trust and beliefs
- Actionable insights
Summit participants will also have the opportunity to interactively compare their and their peers' practices and strategies with the rest of the ag supply chain.
The remainder of the Summit will be building off these findings with these sessions:
- Turning a technology problem into a business solution
- Production cost benchmarks
- Farm Financial Standards update
- Best practices and differentiating strategies
- Where do you want to go?
- Breakout training sessions
