FarmSMART December 2022
From feeding trough...
to empty tomb.
Dear Friend,
The manger in Luke 2:7 was likely carved out of stone--the most readily available material in the rugged hills of Bethlehem. Thirty-three years later that same body was buried in a stone tomb 5 miles away--but for only 3 days!
And he is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent. For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross. Colossians 1:18-20

Q&A: How to Make Your Tax Prep Go Smoothly
Q. What can I do to make the tax prep go smoothly?
A. There are for sure a few things you can do to make the tax prep less stressful! Here are a couple of hints:
1. Know what folder your data files are in! So many people call in a panic that their data is gone, 100% of the time something has updated on the computer or the cache was cleared and it is not defaulting to the correct data directory.
Sarah Dixon, FBS Support Coordinator sarah@fbssystems.com (800.437.7638/extension 100).
So today go and open FBS. Stop on the first screen that says select company and make a note (write it down on a sticky note or take a picture) of where your data is saved!
In this picture my data path is C:\FBswin11.7\Data. Having this saved somewhere allows you to quickly check to see that you are in the correct directory and if you aren’t you can navigate to the correct path!
2. Backup your data! Nothing could be worse than a computer crash at tax time, EXCEPT a computer crash without a data backup! Even if you have a backup service I still recommend making a backup through FBS and having it available. To do this go to Utilities>Save Data and browse to where you want to save your data (thumb drive is good, external or cloud drive is even better).
Then you will have to check the boxes that apply! You must have Setup, Accounting and Save ALL years checked.
3. Run the User Defined Report for the entire year and check the box at the top right to Print undefined entries. Any entries that show up have an error and need to be fixed to have accurate accounting records.
If you do run into an issue take a deep breath and contact us at support. It is a busy time for us but we will get back to you as soon as possible and have you up and going in no time!
