Greetings!
Computer Conference Crew Cruises Confidently
Just wanted to send a quick note to let you know we had a great time at User Conference. The location was great, the accommodations were great, the seminars were great and the networking with industry leaders, other users, and FBS staff was fantastic. For me, it gave me confidence that over time we can use FBS as the financial tool we were hoping for when we purchased.
Thanks to all of you at FBS for a great conference. Please share my note of thanks.

A conference designed for all involved in agricultural consulting is being organized by the American Society of Agricultural Consultants. "This conference is designed for anyone and everyone involved with ag consulting," says Russell Morgan, CAC, chairman of the 2013 ASAC annual conference which is scheduled for October 20 - 22 in Alexandria, VA.
Topics for the conference include: The changing role of ag consulting, communicating with clients, walking the tightrope between consulting and selling, where will the next generation of consultants come from, possible effects of immigration legislation on consulting, working with USDA and other federal agencies, and Where's the Money? Is it a love or is it a job?
"We're calling it a 'Muddy Boots' conference and the program we have developed will appeal to anyone actively involved with ag consulting, no matter their professional discipline," Morgan explains. "We realize there are trade organizations that serve the various sectors of the industry and they have fine programs. Those tend to be narrowly focused and very specific to that particular part of agriculture. ASAC is different because our membership crosses over multiple professional disciplines.
"The advantage professionals will have at the ASAC conference is thediversity of subjects covering the overall scope of consulting, particularly looking to the future. The opportunity to network with peers from other areas of the industry will be enormous as well," he adds. "We have over 40 professional disciplines represented in our membership; that leads to a lot of different conversations with the potential for cross-discipline collaboration."
Early registration deadline is Friday, September 20th.

Congratulations, Iowa grower Ray Gaessor, recently-elected president of the American Soybean Association, who will be succeeding the current ASA president, Mississippi grower Danny Murphy.
Ohio pork producer, cattle feeder and row crop grower Pat Hord is featured in the September 2013 National Hog Farmer story, Making Manure an Asset. Hord Livestock is a truly integrated operation as the manure produced is both a cost center to enhance yields of corn and forages fed to their livestock and a profit center that delivers crop nutrients to their neighbors.
In the same issue of National Hog Farmer, another Ohio pork producer,Chuck Wildman, was pictured and quoted in the story, Pig Adventure Draws Consumers, Critics. Pig Adventure, a new Indiana Breed-to-Wean agri-tourism destination associated with Fair Oaks Farms, provides pigs for Wildman and other producers.

Q. When I go into A/R Money Received I show an outstanding invoice that I can't identify. I've tried searching using the dollar amount in the Accounting Edit screen but still can't find it. How can I locate and view this Accounts Receivable entry?
A. You cannot search on the dollar amount of any A/R or A/P invoice until after it is paid; before it is paid it always shows as zero dollars. To find the entry in question you can do a couple of things:
The A/R Detail Report can be used to search for unpaid invoices.
1. Run an A/R Detail Report for Unpaid Invoices (options 1 or 2), preferably specifying a Vendor in your search. If you are unsure of when the invoice is dated make sure to leave your date range "wide open."
Using the Accounting Input/Edit Search.
2. If you believe the invoice is dated during the current calendar year you can also do an accounting Search under Input | General. Leave the Date Range open for the entire year, select the Vendor and choose the Entry Type (i.e. R for Accounts Receivable) To make finding the invoice easier make note of the invoice number off of the A/R Money Received screen.
These same procedures can be used to find A/P entries as well!
Sincerely,
