User Conference Turns an Unexpected Networking "360"
Blake Hollis and TPEN Operations Manager Julie DiNatale prepare for networking presentation.

Blake and Sally Hollis were "driven" to the FBS User Conference because of their involvement in theTop Producer Executive Network (TPEN).  Blake was invited to share how his peer group of progressive producers challenged and motivated him, but Sally, who recently returned to the farm after serving as an engineer with John Deere, also came to learn how to more effectively use the tools in the FBS "toolbox."  However, through the inspiration of TPEN's founder, Danny Klinefelter and Operations Manager,Julie DiNatale, the Iowa couple may be also be plugged into a new network of FBS Users.

While it's still in the embryonic stage, a majority of other FBS users at the Conference indicated they would also be interested in networking and learning from one another in specialized peer groups of FBS clients.
Danny Klinefelter exchanges peer networking experiences with Barb and Howard Doster.
FBS's Mike Boggs (see story below) will serve as point man as we begin exploring the level of interest, logistics and facilitator options of "spinning off" this potential new network.
Sally Hollis confers with Hedge Accounting Workshop instructor Paul Neiffer.

Q&A of the Month:  Income Statement by Period
Sarah Dixon
Sarah Dixon, FBS Technical Services Manager.

Q.  When I run my Income Statement by periods the heading "YTD" doesn't make sense. Is there a way to change this?

A. Yes there is!  As you can see in this example we are running the Income Statement by Option 7 for a period determined by the user, which in this case is set to one month time frame.  So since the period is just one month the YTD heading makes no sense.

To change this go to Utilities | Set Preferences | Income Statement Options and enter a 2 in for the Value column and press Save.

The report now shows the date range for each period.  Also note for this report to work correctly you must specify Start of fiscal year to equal the starting date of the report (ignore actual fiscal or calendar year).

Additional tip:  The default setting for Income Statement or Balance Sheet reports by column is from newest time period to oldest.  To "flip" the order from from oldest to newest (as in this example) change this preference:

Sincerely,

FBS Systems
