Greetings!

It's almost time for the arrival of harvest (or crop insurance adjusters) in the upper Midwest!

But first...

  • There's still time to register for the FBS User Conference, August 29-30th in Moline, Illinois.
  • Our free weekly webinar moves to 1:00 pm in September.  The first session will even help you get ready for harvest.
  • The Q&A of the Month provides tips for speeding up your support experience.
  • Are you using your iPad or Android tablet to actually manage your farm, not just play "Angry Birds?" Then join the discussion in the Farm Management Software Blog

Q&A of the Month--How Can I Speed Up Support?
Sarah Dixon
Sarah Dixon, FBS Technical Services Manager.

Q.  Why do you ask so many questions when I call in for support?  What information should I assemble before I call or e-mail?

A.    Sometimes it might seem that we ask a lot of irrelevant questions, but it helps us get the full picture of what you are experiencing. To be the best prepared when you contact us here is a list of things to have thought about:
  1. When did the issue start?
  2. When did you last download program updates for FBS?
  3. Has anything changed with your computer setup such as new software or hardware or a Windows update?
  4. When does the issue occur? Is the issue specific to one certain thing that you can document or is it random?

These are the basics. That doesn't mean we won't have more questions once we start digging into the problem. Please have patience with us; everyone's setup is unique and because of that, everyone's solutions are unique and often require a full understanding of the situation and the environment in which it is occurring!

Sincerely,
