"Very informative. Interaction with other producers and users was very helpful."

"A good job. It was a lot of fun. As a producer only, my take on the seminar was eye-opening."

"Best of the three conferences I've been at. Each year I have improved processes from info received."

"Good place to learn about utilizing FBS more fully and talking with people about situations similar to yours to improve your efficiency at home."

These are just a few of the responses we've received following our 2005 Users Conference in Moline, Illinois.  Our thanks go out to all who expended the valuable time and fuel to attend.  A very special thanks goes out to Daryl Ellis, Everett Chambers, John McNutt, Matt Mullenix, Dave Lepely , Ron Swanson and Doug Schilling for their outstanding presentations.

25 YEARS AGO / 25% OFF TRIVIA QUIZ — SECOND CHANCE

Many of your "old timers" were probably on vacation last month, so we'll give everyone a second chance at very easy trivia question.

Software prices have changed since we started business 25 years ago.  Our first product, Commercial Pork Package, originally sold for $250.00.  Even though there were a lot more pork producers then than now, few of them owned a Radio Shack TRS-80 Model I with a cassette tape drive to run the program.

Our first "big" seller didn't take off until floppy disks became widely available in 1981.  We'll award 25% off any FBS module to the first person submitting the name of the program, what it did and its retail price.

Send your answers to norm@fbssystems.com.  We'll announce the correct answer and winner and introduce a new 25-year-trivia question next month.

SOFTWARE Q&A – WITH Q'S FROM YOU, OUR CLIENTS!

Send us your questions/problems–be they short, long, simple or downright frustratin'!–about SeRVware and we'll handle them right "on the air" for the benefit of all.

Q.

This question comes from a session of the FBS User Conference entitled "Things You Never Knew That your Software Could Do"  Did you know that there are two ways to record A/P-A/R invoice due dates?
a.   1.   In the vendor setup (Setup | Accounting |Vendors), highlight the vendor you want to set the invoice due date for and click on the change button.
  2.   In the "days till due" window:
  •   Put in a positive number due date is based on absolute days from the invoice date.
  •   Put in a negative number it if due date is always the same day of the month.
For example, if the invoice payment is always due 10 days following the date of the invoice, enter "10" in the "days till due" window.  However, if all the invoices for a vendor are due on the 10th of the month, enter " -10" in the "days till due" window.

Accurate due dates are important when running the A/P Cash Requirement report and A/P or A/R Aging reports.  You can find more tips for using the A/P or A/R modules under Support Questions on the FBS website.  The questions are now categorized by topic for easy reference.
